I saw an image of this pattern on Pinterest, but I couldn't figure out how to make it on my own, even though the loops were on the loom. I noticed the image was labeled
"Piglet padded basketweave," and this led me to the Piglet's Potholder Patterns site, which is a truly amazing collection of free patterns for different loom sizes.
I love their description of weaving potholders in a blog post: "Making things out of string is one of the key developments of human history — a shared legacy of our whole species, stretching back a thousand generations to the Paleolithic — and we can find a connection to that heritage today, even in this humble and unassuming medium that some might think of as child’s play."

And off the loom. It came out smaller and puffier than the usual potholder. Note: Colors of the loops (willow and winter white) in the image below are more accurate than in the photo above.
