I've almost reached the end of my pile of loops, so I definitely need to order more. But I still have a bunch of willow and autumn loops leftover. So, I thought I'd play around with this these colors and see what I could come up with.
I saw an interesting potholder online and I think I figured how it was made. Here you'll weave over and under individual strands of the loops, so you get two colors together. It creates an intriguing pattern:
To make this pattern, think of each loop as having two strands. Usually, you weave over the whole loop (both strands). But here you'll weave over and under individual strands, that is, one-half of the loop.
I started by attaching the vertical loops, alternating two colors, autumn and willow.
Then I wove in horizontal loops as follows:
First, with the winter white (cream) loops, I wove over a single autumn strand (half a loop), and then under two strands: an autumn and a willow strand together (as below), then over a willow and autumn strand together, continuing this across.
For the next row, I wove under a single autumn strand, then over two strands together, and so on.
.
Continue that pattern. At the end of the row, you will weave over or under a single strand.
